Today, it is not necessary to prove to anyone that the success of any human activity, including such specific, as the investigation and detection of crime, directly depends on its level of security in the amount of accurate information sufficient for the task.


Qualified collecting, analyzing information about objects from various sources, its correct interpretation and application are key to the disclosure of the crimes. Among the many sources of information occupy a special place database of various information systems [1].

Regardless of the form of submission, is not nothing but a collection of different pieces of information about the objects of investigation. Note that the information about the objects of accounting, in the course of their life displayed in a significant number of databases of different information systems. All of these systems have their direct purpose - to create conditions for a speedy resolution of the problem. The volume of data representation of the object in a particular information system, as well as their shape representation depends on the tasks to create the conditions that it is intended resolution.

The need for storage and processing of information has led to the emergence of a large number of information systems in various spheres of human activity. Notable among information systems occupy a base containing an ordered forensic information, that is, those that are directly targeted to accelerate the disclosure of crimes committed.


However, in certain situations, regardless of the specific purpose of information system, the data obtained from its base may have a significant impact on the course conducted search operations and reliable determination of the circumstances under investigation, facts and events concerning subjects, and thereby contribute to the objective investigation crimes.

Being the kind of knowledge, the investigation of crimes is an information process associated with the procurement, collection, processing and use of information. It should be noted that its success depends entirely on the skills of conducting an investigation and the availability of reliable information in a volume sufficient for the task.

One of the reliable sources of information are the databases of modern information systems. At the same time, can have a significant impact not only specialized forensic, but also other systems that contain information about the desired object [2].

Quite often in the investigation of different levels of complexity uses information from databases subdivisions of the State Migration Service, the State Customs Service and the various departments of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine: information-analytical department of "Scorpion", units of information technology, state automobile inspection, the permit system, and like there [3].


In recent years, particular importance in the investigation of certain types of crimes have the information obtained from the system of automatic registration of events that form a unique database, through which it becomes possible to perform accurate examination of the events under investigation.

These typically include:

1. Database of working hours of employees;

2. Databases personalized accounting employee access to any information systems;

3. Database objects for video surveillance systems;

4. Database sessions of all types of communications services to the population;

5. Database providers that provide Internet services to its users.

Significant role in the investigation of crimes can have the same information from systems that do not have anything to do with forensic. For example, in the course of the investigation as sources of information, can be used information retrieval system of any state institutions and organizations [4].

Thus, the databases of modern information systems for various applications, regardless of their purpose and departmental affiliation, surely acquire a dominant role in the investigation of crimes committed in various spheres of society.
